Driver Profile

I grew up in Knoxville Iowa and went to Knoxville Raceway with my family every weekend since the mid-70's. Graduated high school in Knoxville in 1991 and went to Universal Technical Institute in Phoenix Arizona. Graduated there in 1992 and started working at a Ford and Chrysler car dealership as a mechanic in Newton Iowa soon after I graduated UTI. Moved to Newton in1996 . In 2008 I helped a friend as a crew member on his enduro car and after the race season I thought I would have more fun as a driver. So I bought an old 1977 Mercury Cougar and built a race car with my brother Jim and friends help. I started racing in the Iowa Enduro Series in 2009 and had my first race at Hawkeye Downs in Cedar Rapids. Made it to lap 75 before I started having cooling issues and pulled in. Raced the rest of the year and continued in the Enduro Series through 2012. Started racing my first full season at Marshalltown Speedway in 2013 and finished 11th in the IMCA hobby stock class. Been racing in that class ever since, Have finshed in the top 10 in points in the hobby stock class at Marshalltown the last 4 years. Still running the same car but have been making improvements on the car every season. I absoluting love racing and with make current budget I'm able to run about 20-22 nights a year. Hoping someday with a little financial help I can race more. But what a blast I am having. Love putting on a show for the fans and meeting drivers and fans every week.
